Wearing A New Name On Our Lives

By March 10, 2014 No Comments

Rev. 14:1, 4 and 5 "Then I looked, and behold a Lamb standing on Mount Zion, and with Him 144,000, having His Father's name written on their foreheads.  These are the ones who were not defiled with women…, ones who follow the Lamb wherever He goes. These were redeemed from among men, being firstfruits to God and to the Lamb. And in their mouth was found no deceit, for they are without fault before the throne of God." Rev. 14:1, 4 and 5

These verses are John's description of the men whom God uses to impact the whole world for Christ during the Tribulation. He describes them as:
1. Known by a different name ("having His Father's name written upon their foreheads")–vs. 1
2. Following Messiah's path ("who follow the Lamb wherever He goes")  which leads them outside of the ways of sinful men, who are not wearing His name.–vs. 4.
3. Speaking the Truth ("in their mouth was no deceit"), in word, thought, action, lifestyle.–vs. 5.
4. Bearing no blame ("without fault before the throne of God"), being blameless, not perfect, but with nothing unconfessed or un-reconciled with any whom we hurt, offend, harm.–vs. 5  (Fred B)

Life Point:
His Name on my life means that all that He is, and all that He is called, are visible characteristics of my life. Theologians call them "communicable attributes", God's character traits that can be shared with men and can become part of their lives.

His path for me to walk upon, clearly charted by the GPS of God's Word, with the Holy Spirit as my personal Guide, is the only path that my life should take. My daily looking at the spiritual GPS, plus following my Guide all day,  keep me on His path.

Truth as the hallmark of my life in every way–THAT will turn some heads!! Standing on the absolute truth of the Bible, in a day when many say that there is no absolute truth, calling themselves "emergents", is the only way to stay true myself.

Blameless before God, my family, my co-workers, my friends–what a condition! To know that anytime I die, there is nothing unconfessed or not made right, between you and God, or between you and any other human being on this Earth. Wow!

Field Tip:
Be careful that you keep your state's game laws, to the best of your ability, when hunting, fishing or hiking. The best way to do that? By reading and studying the reg's, knowing where you're hunting, and being able to clearly and accurately identify your target or quarry. Many state regulations booklets have helpful pictures, maps and diagrams, to guide us in all of these areas–sorta like the Bible, huh?!
